This remodeling project is the perfect example of how a person’s budget and dreams can meet in the middle. Here’s a design that ticks all the boxes without breaking the bank. Careful collaboration and planning with C&R Designers pared down the unnecessary fluff while introducing touches of elegance. The pleasing colors, warm wood tones, and textural interest combine to make this new kitchen, dining and laundry area soar.
Keys to Successful Kitchen Remodel
It helped that the house had wonderful ‘bones’ even as it suffered from aging cabinetry and an outdated color scheme. C&R brought new life to the kitchen and laundry rooms with vivacious yet cost effective cabinets, appliances, lighting, backsplash and flooring.
Product Selections Help Balance Budget
To keep the design in line with her budget, the homeowner worked with our Designer to select laminate countertops and vinyl flooring. Contrasting detail in the custom tile backsplash dressed up the countertops and additional interest was created with a tile mosaic above the range.
Cabinetry Provides Abundant Storage
Without greatly modifying the kitchen layout, C&R’s Designers added a good deal of extra storage and accommodation. Floor to ceiling cabinets, book cases, and a desk area provide more than enough options for a variety of storage and work uses.
A neutral color palette unifies the kitchen, dining and laundry areas and creates a sense of pleasing calm. The entire space now offers a cohesive visual flow in addition to convenience and livability.
This kitchen/dining/laundry room remodel turned out so well that it was featured in a Salem, Oregon Tour of Remodeled Homes. Tour visitors were particularly pleased to see how remodeling–even on a tight budget–can yield impressive results.
“Everyone at C&R was great to work with. I always felt like my questions were answered. Also, I appreciated that when I called the office, whoever answered the phone knew who I was—that might seem like a small thing, but it made a big difference to me. I liked the rapport between myself and everyone I worked with—friendly, yet courteous and professional. I appreciate everyone’s attention to my project. We are really enjoying our new spaces and we thank all of you for doing such a great job.”
